The Living Areas

The ground-floor living room: the long curved sofa, round tables, the dining room beyond

The GuestHouse has two places to gather: the large living and dining room on the ground floor, and a family TV room in the semi-basement.

In the living and dining room we replaced the lighting entirely, then refreshed the walls in a warmer tone. A large sofa, dressed in rich, warm-coloured fabrics, sits with two big round coffee tables by Maison de Vacances, through D'Aleo, and two armchairs in warm, colourful upholstery by Tosconova.

The lighting is what I would call country-industrial: pendants, wall lights and floor lamps by Il Fanale. The technical light comes from small spotlights hidden among the wooden beams.

Downstairs, the big modular sofa turns from a corner unit into two generous chaises longues, whatever the evening calls for. Everything else is made to measure. Beside the sofa, an open fluted cabinet hides the modem and the Wi-Fi router without blocking the signal. Opposite, the space under the stair has become a storage closet with a made-to-measure door, concealed behind a TV unit on wheels that rolls aside to open it.
