Making it

Il Fienile was rebuilt from the ground up, and these photographs are the months in between: the barn floor bare between its brick piers, the spiral stair standing in raw concrete before it had a rail, pipes and manifolds waiting in open walls, the frames of the big windows still without their glass.

Rebecca was on site as often as I was. Many decisions were made there, drawings in hand, in front of the thing itself: a wall, a window, the curve of a step. The pairs below show a few of those places then and now.
