The roof terrace

The roof terrace looking to the Apuan Alps, daybeds and screens

The roof was finished after the flat below it, and took longer. Every planter on it is corten steel made to measure, and the three elemental sculptures along the loggia — two of fire, one of water — needed a great deal of preparation before anything could be installed.

What is left is a single open plane at the top of the building, held by freestanding laser-cut screens and by planters deep enough for the planting to survive a Versilian roof. The Apuan Alps close one side, the sea the other.
