The brief
A single-storey farmhouse in the hills near Orvieto, gathered around an open central loggia. Wide sliding glass doors keep every room in conversation with the land outside: the lawn, the old olive trees, the pool and the valley beyond.
My part was the furnishing, the lighting design and the bathrooms, which I drew. The palette is warm and quiet: walnut, natural stone — Sahara Noir, Carrara, travertine — and soft leathers and fabrics in cream, grey and sand.
The three living rooms are furnished almost entirely by Borzalino, each around a different sofa: the sculpted shell of Ayton in the first, Greg on its wooden base in the second, the soft modules of Shifu in the third.

Corner sofa and pouf
A curved metal shell lifts the sofa off the floor and holds deep, soft seats inside it: firm geometry around padded curves. The pouf repeats the shell on a slim metal base.

Swivel armchairs
Rounded, enveloping armchairs on a swivel base, set in front of the glass doors: turn them to the view, or back to the conversation.

Sofas and bench
A clean line on a wooden base, finished with the “step” that runs around the back and the seat. Two sofas face each other across the coffee table; the bench brings in a note of mustard.

Armchairs
A solid walnut frame, a deep, soft seat, and a detail you only find up close: a crossed tab of waxed leather on the back cushion.

Shifu
Sofa and bench
Soft geometric modules held together by a light metal frame, the arms and back sloping inward to hold whoever sits there. A braided leather edge draws the outline.
